Welcome at the Echoput***** | It's all about flavour and tasting!
Hotel Gastronomique De Echoput lies in Hoog Soeren near Apeldoorn in a beautiful environment, amidst 11.000 hectares of the Royal Woods belonging to the nearby Palace Het Loo. This region is also called the Veluwe. A wonderful gastronomic spot to eat, sleep, meet and above all: to enjoy!
De Echoput has quiet some history. At first it is well known for the echoing well that goes back to the first King of Holland, Lodewijk Napoleon, brother of the emperor Napoleon Bonaparte. Later Dutch Queen Wilhelmina (1880-1962) lived at the Palace and had built a small restaurant near the echoput for the tourists that came to Apeldoorn to visit the well. In 1955 Jaap Klosse and his young wife started their Michelinstar restaurant on this beautiful spot in the woods and since 2007 the son, Peter Klosse, rebuilt the place as a fivestar Hotel Gastronomique with two different restaurants. De Echoput is proud on its royal roots. Be welcome and let the world of flavour and tasting of the Echoput surprise you too.
The newly rebuilt Restaurant de Echoput earned its Michelinstar in 2011 and in 2008 Restaurant de Echoput was rewarded in Beverly Hills by the IRHA as: "Best new luxury restaurant of the world " Wijn & Spijs.
Tasting and flavour, finding the perfect matches in wine and foodpairing, is the passion of dr. Peter Klosse. Peter wrote several gastronomic books on the subject, a thesis for his Phd. at the University of Maastricht on his "Concept of Flavourstyles", is founder of De Academie voor Gastronomie, and Professor at Stenden University in Leeuwarden.
