Gastronomic books and research
Writing books, articles, columns and study material has become more and more important. Our first book, ‘Wildgerechten', was published at the occasion of our 40th anniversary. The first book on gastronomy was published in 1998: ‘Smaak' (Flavour, the handbook for wine and food combinations). It was very well received and considered as a standard work. In successive books, ‘Smaakstijlen', ‘Spelen met smaak' and ‘het Proefboek' the flavour theory was further developed and specified. Last mentioned book is the update from the first two and still for sale.
In writing the books the need grew for a scientific evaluation. It ultimately resulted in writing an academic thesis in English: ‘The Concept of Flavour Styles to Classify Flavours'. After its defence at Maastricht University, Peter Klosse received his PhD. for his work. He is often invited as a speaker.
Next to the gastronomic books and the first recipe book, new cook books with game recipes were also published. The latest one that is currently for sale is ‘De wortels van de Echoput' (the roots of the Echoput).
For educational purposes Peter Klosse wrote a standard work on wine. In more than 600 pages everything you would want to know about wine is treated.
